A Manager for the Audit and Accounts Team is being sought to join and complement the current Peterborough team. The team is growing in response to an expanding and more demanding client base and this is an excellent opportunity to join this friendly, vibrant and dynamic team.

The Individual:

They seek a passionate and enthusiastic individual with at least five years’ experience in the delivery of external audit and accounting services. The candidate would need experience of leading, managing and completing audit engagements across a wide range of clients, both carrying out this work, overseeing and reporting on the work of others and training junior staff.

Responsibilities:

Overseeing And Undertaking Audit Senior Assignments
Lead audit fieldwork teams both in office and at clients
Attend client’s premises to conduct audit fieldwork
Be first point of call for queries from clients and communicate confidently with client throughout the audit
Manage audit planning including leading audit planning meetings
Check information received from clients to ensure it is complete and relevant
Lead finalisation of audit including preparation of accounts and tax computation
Lead the team to ensure deadlines are met
Monitor budgeted time allocated for the audit and notify the partner if the audit will go over the set timeframe
Act as three way communication of audit progress and any issues with client, partner and audit team

Supervision Of Team:

Manage and monitor workflow and progression of assignments
Train and supervise trainees
Mentor trainees
Closely support partners by reviewing audit team’s work
Contribute to improvement of policies and procedures

Accounts:

Review sole trader, partnership and limited company accounts providing constructive feedback for accounts team
Review sole trader, partnership and limited company tax computations providing constructive feedback for accounts team
Ensure draft documents are prepared for client meeting including accounts for signature and CT600
Feedback review points to the portfolio holder
Liaise and communicate with portfolio holder and client

Other Responsibilities :

Provide constructive feedback to senior management team regarding processes and procedures
Save all correspondence with clients in the document management system
Take on any other duties appropriate as and when required
Be aware of the firm’s risk management and practice assurance procedures and ensure compliance
Assist with mentoring and training of trainees

Education And Experience:

Qualified with either ACCA or ACA
At least five years’ UK accountancy practice experience
Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Competent knowledge of audit and accountancy software
Competent knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS
Excellent customer service and communications skills, both written and verbally
Must be able to live and work in the UK
