Financial Controller – Interim
Park Royal, North London (Hybrid Home & Office Working)
6-month Assignment – Day Rate Negotiable (outside IR35)

An Exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a business within the Food & Beverage sector that sell their branded products via Retail, Wholesale and Digital channels. This business is a genuine leader within their sector and offer a fun, dynamic and interesting workplace.

The Opportunity

The business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to support the Finance Director with statutory and management reporting whilst managing six direct reports within the Finance team. The incumbent will produce Month end accounts and Quarterly forecasts, offer insight and analysis and prepare/submit quarterly HMRC VAT returns. They will oversee monthly payment runs and perform reconciliations to ensure accounts are kept up to date.

The individual appointed will oversee Accounts Payable, Credit Control and Payroll, and ensure employees are following correct procedures in line with company policies. The Financial Controller will support the Commercial team, mitigating risk on inventory purchases, reviewing stock positions and analysing sales/trading data across omni-channels to identify trends and opportunities. As the business is going through a period of transition, the Financial Controller will also support the Finance Director on strategic plans and harmonisation projects.

This is a hands-on role and the Financial Controller will support Departmental Heads with financial and sales analysis including gross margin and overhead analysis. Monthly management accounting tasks will include stock reconciliation and reporting, managing prepayments and accruals, cash flow forecasting, and Debtor analysis. There will be a further requirement to assist the Finance Director with preparation of consolidated interim and year-end financial statements.

Applicants should be experienced Finance Managers/Financial Controllers (CIMA, ACCA, ACA qualified) who can manage and motivate the Finance team, be effective quickly and manage a full workload within a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Once the Interim Financial Controller has spent several weeks working in the office there may be an opportunity to work a blended schedule, 3 days in office and 2 days at home.

The Interim Financial Controller should be available to commence at some point during October 2022. This is an Interim Assignment (outside IR35) for approximately 6 months. Ref: 3361
