Job Description
Assistant Management Accountant (12m FTC to perm)
Talent Accountancy & Finance are now on the hunt for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join an exciting tech business for 12 months on a maternity leave cover with a strong likelihood of a permanent contract at the end as the business have ambition growth plans that will result in new roles being created.
The basic salary for this role is up to £35k DOE + study support. It’s a hybrid role, with plenty of autonomy and senior level exposure to aid professional development.
The company are based in Altrincham town centre with free onsite parking & close links to the tram line for those days you are in the office, which will usually be 2/3 days a week. (Initially during the training phase there will be more office time required though – more like 3-5 days a week for first 4-6 weeks)
The Role
In this role you’ll play a key part in Finance with good month end exposure, producing group Management Accounts within strict deadlines whilst also ensuring accurate & efficient ledger close each month by posting/reviewing Purchase Ledger & completing bank reconciliations.
Some of the main tasks will include:
* Producing Management Accounts for the group (supported initially by Head of Finance & another long standing Assistant Management Accountant)
* Bank reconciliations
* Full purchase ledger responsibilities from posting invoices (15-20 invoices a week – low volume) to supplier payment runs
* Cashflow forecasting
* Ad hoc reporting to add value to Head of Finance & give more insights in management reporting
* Completing VAT returns
* Processing the monthly payroll
* Continuously improving and developing processes & automation across the reporting function
* Any other ad hoc duties required to make the finance function as efficient & effective as possible!

The team you’d be joining are a small, close knit, supportive group of 4 in Finance. You will be a key member of the Finance team reporting directly into the Head of Finance.
The Person
We are looking for someone who has can hit the ground running in an Assistant Management Accountant role, so previous experience in a similar role & having completed AAT & either qual or part qual CIMA/ACA/ACCA is favourable.
Someone that is very positive, up for a challenge and has a can-do attitude & approach to their work will fit in well here.
