Job Description
An Accountant is required by our Practice Accountancy client near Northampton, Northamptonshire. A salary of up to £65k basic is available dependent upon experience. You will ideally be able to gain your practising  certificate and become a Partner in the business. This role is full-time, but a 4 day working week (Monday to Thursday).

We are seeking an ambitious, forward-thinking Senior Accountant or potentially a Partner for the business who has or who is able to acquire a practising certificate from their professional body. You will be fully qualified (ICAEW, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

As a Senior Accountant you will have a good knowledge of VAT and tax rules particularly Personal and Corporate Tax. Knowledge of or willingness to take on more complex tax items such as SEIS & EIS is key. You will also work on review of VAT returns quarterly, monthly & annually, Cash, Flat Rate & Accrual Schemes. Control of Payroll operations.

The Senior Accountant will review the work of more junior staff and will carry out a regular mix of reviewing and accounts preparation. With a strong emphasis on both quality and accuracy, you will be preparing and reviewing year end accounts for Ltd Co, LLP’s, Sole Traders,

Required:

– Solid knowledge of Accounting Standards primarily FRS105, FRS102 (1a), FRS102

– ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA Qualified

– Good knowledge of VAT rules

– Excellent skills in preparing and reviewing year end accounts for Ltd Co, LLP’s, Sole Traders

– Good understanding of tax, particularly Personal Tax and Corporate Tax

Desirable:

– Knowledge or willingness to learn more complex tax items such as SEIS & EIS

– Cloud accounting software (Xero and Quickbooks primarily)

– Ability to source and win new clients and quoting for services

– Knowledge of Pension Accounts Ideal but not essential

Salary:

Basic salary from £40,000 to £65,000 plus good benefits and professional management.

Bonus and Profit Share.

There is a clear career progression plan from senior accountant to Partner / Director and, therefore, salary is dependent on your seniority.
