Service Charge Accountant

Timperley

£30,000 – £33,000 (Pro Rata)

4 day working week

My client is a well-established, commercial property company, working on a rent roll of well into the millions. They are a professional chartered surveyors, dealing with all aspects of commercialand industrial property.

An exciting job has arisen to join them working as a service charge accountant, working alongside two other reputable employees that make up the management team.

Job description for Service Charge Accountant

* Keep management systems up to date using client’s online package.

* Maintain up to date and correct Service Charge and Rent information.

* Provide support to the property management surveyor and property manager with budget reviews, ensuring excellent service.

* Prepare income reports and all documentation for external accountants.

* Liaise with said external accountant for preparation of service charge accounts.

* Responsibility of year-end service charge accounts.

* Raise rent & service charge demands and ad-hoc recharges to tenants when necessary, communicating effectively.

* Carry out client reports and prepare bank reconciliations.

* Assist with annual audits and collection of service charge arrears.

* Set up new instructions – tenants/properties/clients.

* Complete internal VAT returns and provide the necessary information to client’s accountants to prepare theirs.

* Allocation of payments coming into the bank.

* Monitoring tenants’ accounts and chasing arrears initially.

* Credit control with all tenants.

Job skills required for Service Charge Accountant

* Good Client Facing skills.

* At least AAT level 1 qualified (the client will pay for full qualification to be completed).

* Motivated, and able to work to own deadlines.

* Knowledge of property accounts systems.

* Previous background in property preferred.

* Pro- active and initiative nature.
