Job Description
Our major Insurance Broking client has a new opportunity for a Senior Claims Handler to join their experienced and well regarded team, to handle UK claims for a major UK housebuilder and other construction firms.

All claims are direct, not via the London Market and your claims experience can be in Commercial Property or other similar classes including MD/BI.

This is a role that can be performed in the office and on a hybrid basis at home.

As Senior Claims Handler you will be primarily responsible for leading the strategy and process for the notification, agreement, collection and successful settlement of this portfolio of claims.

Also for client updates and liaison with placement teams, clients, underwriters and appointed representatives.

It will also involve working closely with colleagues in setting and handling the strategy to satisfactorily conclude contentious claims.

As Senior Claims Handler your key responsibilities will include:

Provide counsel and recommendations on coverage to facilitate the settlement and payment of claims.
Carefully handle the claims negotiation process with clients, underwriters and or their appointed legal representatives and or loss adjusters.
Facilitate the resolution of any outstanding coverage issues and where necessary engage with other colleagues as
Proactively anticipate and present to clients the best settlement solution.
Co-ordinate discussions and, where appropriate, meetings to ensure superior level of communication between the client, underwriter and their representatives concerning the proposed settlement.
Issuance of timely, accurate and clear instructions to the outsourcer to enable claims to be processed.
Conduct data analysis to establish the claims' history for a particular client or business portfolio, and to identify trends and patterns.
Use your depth of product, industry and market knowledge to help in resolving contentious claims. Engage with relevant subject area to assist insettingandhandlingthestrategytoconcludecontentious
Engage, monitor and oversee third party providers e.g. loss adjusters, lawyers, surveyors, engineers etc.
Technical support for pre-renewal meetings, placing and renewal To be a successful Senior Claims Handler you will demonstrate::

Strong Property claims knowledge, or of related classes MD/BI
Knowledge of FCA requirements and standards
Commercial competence and negotiation skills
Enthusiastic approach to client service with strong relationship building skills
Good analytical mind set and excellent problem-solving skills
