Job Description
THE COMPANY
Our client, based on the outskirts of Wolverhampton is an internationally recognised and award-winning horticultural brand. They are recruiting for a Head of Finance on a permanent basis to head up a finance team of 8 staff.

THE ROLE
This is a senior role which reports directly to the Finance Director. You will either oversee the monthly management accounts to point of creation. Or, will have responsibility, working with the commercial accountant, for variance analysis, analysis packs, commentary and reporting at commercial meetings. You will oversee preparation and analysis of month end management accounts, completion of monthly executive report packs and review and improve current standard costing model. You will create a new internal audit function within the finance team and work closely with the Fulfilment department to implement a new stock system. You will also manage the entire year end process, including liaising with UK, USA and Japanese auditor and take overall responsibility for balance sheet and reconciliations. Other day to day duties will include, monitoring financial transactions and internal controls, cash flow forecasting and reviewal of finance KPI’s. Oversee a team of 8 staff and evaluate and manage risk. P&L ownership of some overhead costs such as insurance and energy and authorisation of invoices.

REQUIREMENTS
Ability to demonstrate previous experience within a similar role. Costing/manufacturing background desirable and fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) The ability to influence and manage at all levels of the business. As well as being personable and able to build strong, credible relationships. Financially astute with a sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals. Commercial and business awareness as well as being achievement orientated. Strong IT skills.
