Chesterfield College is located near the town centre of Chesterfield and attracts students from across South Yorkshire and Derbyshire, employing over 600 individuals. The college is very much at the heart of the community it serves and provides a range of courses and apprenticeships that aim to offer a route into education and training for everyone, whatever level they are working at. The college works closely with local employers and researches the labour market information and industry projections to ensure that the curriculum they offer reflects the needs of the area.

The role
A full, detailed, job description will be provided. In this position, you will join a dynamic and ambitious Senior Leadership Team. You will have full management for the finance team of 12 as you are given the freedom and support from the CFO to improve processes and efficiencies.
The duties and responsibilities include:
* Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the finance team and ensure the effective development of the department.
* Maintain and improve all aspects of financial control.
* Play a key part in cross‐college strategy and decision-making as you business partner with budget holders and other members of the senior team.
* Lead and manage the annual budgeting process, ensuring a clear, robust and transparent process is embedded.
* Lead on improvements to systems, processes and controls to ensure they are optimised.
* Responsible for weekly cash flow forecasting.
* Provide and share business intelligence to create knowledge and inform decision-making.
* Ensure a deep understanding of the links between finance, strategic decisions and leadership, and day‐to‐day operational activities and decision making.
* Be the main point of contact for internal and external audits.

* Bright and motived
* A qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
* Enthusiastic
* A strong communicator and relationship builder – capable of translating finance for non-finance budget holders.
* Relevant sector experience is not a prerequisite requirement
