Job Description
We are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a successful logistics company to be based at the firm’s offices on the outskirts of Slough. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic finance team in a fast moving and busy environment.

Under direction of the Finance Director, the main purpose of this role will be to manage the application of accounting principles to the accounting system, maintaining accurate records of accounts, monitor expenditure and prepare monthly financial statements and administrative reports.

As Finance Manager your responsibilities will include:

* Compute and analyse financial data to maintain accurate records of accounts and expenditures

* Balance and reconcile accounts

* Provide technical assistance to accounts staff personnel in the preparation and/or modification of fiscal-year budgets

* Compile data and prepare reports on income and expenditures

* Prepare various monthly, quarterly, and annual fiscal reports, including income statements, balance sheets and reports on special fund expenditures and transactions

* Maintain a complete set of budgetary control and general accounts; take trial balances and prepares monthly and annual reports

* Review work produced by accounts department to ensure accuracy and completeness, using own discretion

* Audit expenditures to ensure compliance with Company purchasing/accounting procedures

* Assist internal and external auditors

* Make routine investments (FOREX) by telephone and maintain up-to-date records and receipts of all transactions

* Supervise accounts and credit control supervisors and other personnel involved in accounting functions

* Communicate with company employees, outside agencies and anyone else necessary or provide information related to finance

* Assisting with recruitment

To be a serious contender for this role, you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

* Have an accounting/finance related degree, or an accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), alternatively, QBE candidates with at least 3-4 years’ experience in similar position will be considered

* Previous experience gained within a similar busy finance role

* Extensive knowledge of accounting and accounting principles

* Able to accurately prepare periodic financial and administrative reports and resolve complex accounting problems

* Significant experience in managing team members; couching and mentoring to ensure required outcomes and efficiencies

* Be IT literate

* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
