Job Description
Finance Manager

Are you an experienced Accountant or part-qualified accountant looking to take the next step in your career? One of my clients based in Edinburgh are looking for an experienced finance personnel to come join them as a Finance Manager on a full-time and permanent basis. This role is fully office based on their site due to the nature of the organisation. My client requires an individual who has the ability to lead a small finance team and promote a healthy & positive work environment. As a Finance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that all information is communicated accordingly throughout your team and transparency is key.

The key responsibilities include:

* Lead the finance team and support senior management in overseeing the planning, operation and development of the company’s financial systems

* Ensure all financial reporting, forecasting and recording are in place and accessible for senior management

* Produce management accounts

* Support senior management in producing business plans, forecasts, budgets and performance analyses when required

* Monthly payroll process

* Prepare financial information to those who require it

* Ensure all policies and procedures are kept up to date and altered where necessary

* Ensure information which is presented a board meetings is of a high quality and reflects any relevant actions

* Coordinate year end duties / files and liaise with auditors

The key skills / knowledge / qualifications required:

* Part or fully qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

* Excellent experience of management accounts, budget preparation and cashflow reporting

* Excellent experience of budget and process management

* Significant payroll experience

* A solid track record of leading a successful finance department with a positive ethos

* A good knowledge of SAGE payroll, Xero and Microsoft Office packages

* A good working knowledge of data protection legislation

* Knowledge of charity finance would be beneficial but not essential

* Excellent communication and organisational skills

* IT literate
