The difference our new Business Facing Accountant – UK Aviation will make

As a Business Facing Accountant – UK Aviation, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This role supports and accurately reports on the financial performance of specific contracts within Aviation, to work closely with contract managers and other functions, routinely challenging the numbers and provide financial support to relevant bids as appropriate.

Day to day, you'll prepare and collate of financial information for contract review documents, and presentation of information at these monthly reviews, addressing outputs (e.g. risk register changes) as part of contract financial models.

This position will be focussed on providing financial support to the contract operations, through preparation of detailed forecasts and reporting along with variance analysis to assist management make strategic decisions. The role also supports the pricing of organic growth, management of cash, Balance Sheets, Orderbook and contract risks and opportunities as well as ad/hoc projects for the business.

You will be reporting to the Business Facing Finance Manager and the role will cover all financial aspects of the contract and any organic growth. This position is an important role on with continuous room for career progression and learning. – Step in the door for an accountant wanting to be involved within the Aviation sector

The role requires travel to relevant sites and flexibility on working hours as workloads dictate.

Essential experience

Essential:

* A valid full UK driving licence
* Have or studying towards a recognised professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA).
* Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Office 2010 suite of applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio and Outlook.
* The successful candidate will be highly competent, qualified, or part qualified accountant with excellent communication skills and the aptitude to learn quickly.
* You will be able to fit in seamlessly, and collaborate with, diverse project teams and provide financial leadership and challenge
* Successful candidates may need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining security clearance (SC) level of security clearances).

Desirable:
* Experience of Finance IT applications (e.g., Navision, IFS, SAP etc.)

You will need:

* Ability to work with minimum supervision.
* Ability to engage effectively with all Business Unit stakeholders.
* Ability to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved or surpassed.
* Ability to maintain knowledge of industry and regulatory standards.
* Effective matrix management of the customers of the service and the other functional units.
* Ability to understand and manipulate data to present clear and concise financial messages for review.
