Job Description
The Special Partnership Trust

Required to start as soon as possible.

We are an equitable partnership of schools and specialist provision that are ambitious for excellence in learning and support. We constantly seek to improve our offer to young people and their families through collaboration, challenge, and cooperation across the partnership. We are always aware of the need to develop best practice across the partnership and with mainstream and other specialist providers. The partnership works proactively with the LA and multi-agency teams to provide a wide range of flexible specialist learning opportunities across the region.

The Special Partnership Trust is a collaborative Multi Academy Trust of six special schools and four Area Resource Bases (increasing to 9 schools by 2024) across Cornwall, Devon, and BANES. Its aim is to strengthen and enhance best practice across all our specialist provision and beyond into the wider SEN community in mainstream schools, including ARB provision. A central Trust team supports schools with a core focus on School Improvement, facilitating constructive quality assurance, CPD, supportive and challenging coaching and mentoring. It leads on a wide range of administrative, policy, HR and financial systems that deliver economies of scale for schools that frees up Headteachers to focus on school improvement and the learning opportunities for pupils and staff. It is a mutually supportive partnership that encourages innovation and ambition for all its staff, with a wide range of CPD and career development opportunities. The successful candidate will receive a comprehensive induction and ongoing coaching and support. We believe in enabling Headteachers to have the freedom to lead their schools to success, supported by and accountable to the Trust and broader partnership.

Trust Management Accountant
We are looking to fill a brand-new role in our finance team to position ourselves for ambitious growth. Our new management accountant will play a vital role in providing the robust financial system, process development and reporting. The Trust offers challenge, hybrid/flexible working and personal growth opportunities to candidates who enjoy a stimulating, fast moving environment and who are ready to offer commitment, high performance, and integrity in return for a key management accountancy role.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer you will be joining a small, highly motivated finance and payroll team in a key role. You will have a natural passion for numbers and a forensic eye for the detail of reconciliations, analysis, and reporting. The Trust encourages people to be autonomous and self – motivated; we are looking for a Management Accountant who can spot an opportunity, benefit, and will then explore and deliver.

You’ll be proactive, curious and innovative by nature, adding value to the Trust, Schools and ARBs and assisting in the strategic financial planning. The role of Management Accountant is ideally suited to an individual who is ready to grow alongside the Trust and more than ready to expand their own professional experience.

If you have the commitment, energy, initiative, and drive to help us achieve our goals – then we welcome your application.
