Job Description
Are you an ambitious, inquisitive professional with an understanding of private client investment management and a genuine interest in financial markets?
We are a busy, successful boutique wealth management practice looking to invest in a committed early-career individual with the ambition and intellectual curiosity to train as an investment associate. We can offer plenty of training and support with professional exams to develop a meaningful career within our investment management team.
Working closely with the director responsible for investment management, you will have the opportunity to learn how to manage investment portfolios, drive research and analysis and have a tangible impact on how we manage money for our clients. We are decidedly contemporary in our approach, working in an open, cooperative, team-based environment with a flat structure, challenging convention and embracing new ways of solving the same old problems.
About the role
You'll be joining a bunch of intelligent, motivated people with complementary skills who care about doing an excellent job for our clients. Immediate responsibilities are:
* Prepare and assess investment performance reports for clients
* Build financial models and analyses to improve investment performance
* Develop and test investment hypotheses
* Assist with client portfolio administration
* Investment committee meeting preparation, minutes and follow-ups
* Write regular market commentaries and outlooks
* Gather and process data sets for internal and external use
* Manage CRM and workflow
Additional information
Our role is intrinsically office-based because of the degree of training, colleague liaison, and client contact.
Essential
* Undergraduate degree – minimum 2:1
* 1-2 years experience in an investment management/wealth management environment
* Proficiency with Excel and handling data
* Computer literate full Windows Office suite
* Excellent written and spoken English
* Proven interest in financial markets
Desirable
* Degrees with exposure to the gathering, processing and reporting of data are preferable
* Previous experience of working in an office environment is preferable but not compulsory
* Commitment to do professional exams such as CISI.
* Adaptable, organised, analytical, proactive and communicative
* Keen interest in economics and how financial markets work
* Able to work in a team, take the initiative, and remain resilient under pressure
* Accuracy & attention to detail
* Willing to learn
