Job Description
Randstad are recruiting for an experienced student finance officer to join the team at Belfast Metropolitan College.

EITHER Hold at least a Level 4 qualification or above in a relevant discipline PLUS a minimum of two years' experience working in at least two of the following Student Support function; Student union, Student funding, Careers information & guidance, Student wellbeing, Learning support environment for students
OR Hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline PLUS Have a minimum of four years' experience
GCSE Maths and English
Knowledge of the barriers to education, learning and progression that our students/potential students in the Further and Higher Education sector face
Current in-depth knowledge and understanding of the vital role that Student Funding plays in overcoming these barriers by enabling students to realise their potential
Detailed knowledge of funding mechanisms for students within the further and higher education sector
Experience of budget management and audit compliance
Experience of service review and development including service impact analysis
Experience of providing advice and guidance to students
IT Literate in all MS office packages
Enhanced vetting is required for these roles including an Enhanced Access NI checkDuties

To provide accurate information to all students in relation to appropriate and relevant ear-marked funds
To proactively engage with students and ensure that all financial applications are dealt with in a timely and customer focused manner
To proactively outreach student finance services
To process applications in an efficient and timely manner
To ensure that information in relation to student funding is interpreted for the students
To provide regular reports to relevant academic departments
To develop and maintain systems and procedures
To ensure that annual returns to the Department for Employment and Learning in relation to student earmarked funds are dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner
To provide a number of staff development/staff training sessions
To provide information required for audit purposes by internal and external auditors, the Student Loan Company, DFE and others as required
To maintain and update information and databases concerning all aspects of student finance
