WHAT TO EXPECT
This role is integral to the timely and efficient delivery of the Jaguar Land Rover quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements. In this role you will have exposure to senior internal and external stakeholders. Your key responsibilities will involve the analysis of technical accounting matters to ensure compliance with relevant International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) regulations, as well as group reporting validation responsibilities across the Group's multinational environment.
In this role you will be preparing the more technically complex areas of the group financial statements, including cash flow statement, pensions, tax and financial instruments. You will be utilising financial reporting tools and automation to drive efficiencies in the preparation and review process as well as supervising the the completion of the month-end consolidation process.
As a Senior Finance Analyst you will be preparing and presenting monthly close performance metrics and key issues to the Group Accounting Director, continually seeking ways to improve the quality and relevance of metrics and drive resolution of issues. In addition to this, you will be proactively designing, developing and improving controls and processes and liaising with internal audit and the external auditors to ensure the relevant requirements are met in an efficient and effective manner.
You will co-ordinate with functional areas of the business on projects involving new ventures and one-off transactions to identify and develop solutions for group reporting and consolidation issues as well as being a key contact for the parent company's financial reporting team and external auditors, ensuring deliverables are provided on time and queries are dealt with. You will also draft sections of quarterly financial reporting papers for presentation to the Audit Committee, Disclosure Committee and the Board.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
ACCA/ACA/ICAS qualified or equivalent qualification
Experience of the preparation or audit of complex Group financial statements under IFRS
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with an ability to logically work through and understand complex issues
Strong verbal and written communication skills to cope within cross-functional teams and a global office environment and to communicate complex ideas
A passion for continuous process improvement and process excellence
Desirable:
Experience of Oracle EPM Financial Consolidation & Close and SAP
Knowledge of internal controls within the financial reporting process
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
