What's involved?
As Senior Accounts Assistant you will need an in-depth knowledge of Sage Line 50 accounts is essential. Experience of foreign currency transactions and the workings of stock control within a distribution company environment is preferable but not essential.
Candidates should have at least 4 years' experience of working in an account's office with full knowledge of Sales and Purchase ledgers, Cashbooks, bank reconciliations, Vat Returns and have produced accounts up to Trial Balance.
The role will entail:
Daily posting of all bank transactions from 3 main bank accounts: GBP, USD & Euro.
Allocation of Supplier & Customer payments and checking accuracy of such allocations with other team members.
Processing of Overhead/Admin Supplier invoices, credit card transactions and FX transfers between the bank accounts.
Monthly reconciliation of Debtor & Creditor balances.
Monthly reconciliations and FX revaluations of all bank accounts.
Assisting the Head of Group Accounts with quarterly management accounts.
Posting Payroll journals, accruals & prepayments, checking Stock Valuation with the Office/Admin manager.
The ideal Senior Accounts Assistant will have:
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Computer literacy and knowledge of working with and producing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
Solid understanding of accounting systems and processes.
Ability to function within a motivated, time-pressured team.
