Axon Moore have partnered with a firmly established, leading, chartered accountancy practice – based in Wigan – who are looking for a Semi-Senior Accountants to join their ever expanding team following several generations of successful operations working predominantly within the North West.

This role is an excellent opportunity to join a prominent practice in the market and establish your career in Finance, especially for those who are part-qualified ACCA/ACA and have amassed previous and recent experience within Audit or Tax.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

To assist the audit managers on a variety of audits from planning to completion and to supervise more junior members of staff.
Identify complex audit and accounting matters, dealing with them where appropriate and referring them on to your manager when necessary.
Prepare statutory accounts under FRS 101, FRS 102 and SORP 102.
Corporate and personal tax compliance work
Occasional involvement in tax planning.
Liaise with clients to ensure a prompt delivery of services and manage the relationship in a professional manner.
Handling client queries.
Use of Excel spreadsheets to present and analyse key information.
Ensure client files are organised and up to date with new information and key changes.
All other audit / account related tasks and any other ad-hoc duties
Required Skills and Experience:

Working towards the attainment of ACA/ACCA qualification.
1+ years' audit experience within a similar role.
Tax compliance experience (desired).
Up-to-date technical knowledge of auditing and financial reporting standards.
Knowledge of Xero and Sage software.
Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Excellent communication, attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
Proactive, persistent, resourceful, self-motivated and be able to work to deadlines.
Ability to build effective working relationships – internal and external.
