Job Description
Newstaff Employment Services are recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger Manager to join a progressive company.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to help drive the team to achieve their greatest potential.

Previous stock experience and managing a team of at least 10 staff is essential for this role.

the role involves occasional travel to Head Office and possibly to other branches, which stretch from Brighton to Peterborough.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage Team of 10+ staff
• Team Support & Mentoring
• Aged creditors review and management
• New Acquisition Integration of Data/Suppliers/Invoices
• Supplier reconciliation
• Review Old GRNs
• Query handling.
• Manage the Full Purchase Ledger Function.
• Manage Multiple Payment Runs.
• Adhere to Payment Timetable – ensuring all payments are made in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all Rebate and Discounts are taken.
• Create New Supplier Accounts, with Validation.
• Invoice matching.
• Multiple Currency Payments.
• Supplier Communication, via e-mail, and phone.
• Use Banking & Payment Systems.
• Assist in Cashbook and Bank Reconciliation

The Person:

• The ideal candidate will have at least 4-5 years’ experience in a similar role.

Has a hands-on approach.
Is a confident, methodical, clear thinker and who can prioritise and make well thought out decisions.
A real ‘People Person’ that communicates well and has a ‘can do’ attitude.
A quick learner with high expectations and personal standards – with a passion to get things right and able to work to deadlines
Able to build relationships and work well with our Directors, Managers and Supplier
Problem Solver – who can generate innovative solutions.
Knowledge, Experience, Qualifications

• Excel, Word, Office.
• Accuracy is important.
• Attention to detail
• Kerridge (Babbage) would be nice, but not essential,
• General Booking Keeping/Accounts knowledge and a working knowledge of VAT.

This role reports into Group Accountant and will have regular contact with the Directors, and other senior managers.

Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm (One hour for lunch)

Salary:  £45,000 pa to £50,000 pa + Pension Scheme + 23 days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Benefits
