Job Description

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a PMO for a 6 month contract based in west sussex

Purpose of the Role:

Several Projects will be worked yes, Phase 1 of said Projects is car insurance and the Second Phase is Home Insurance, currently overlapping so Candidate will workalong with both Phases and Projects

you will be responsible for:

Preparing and structuring master planning documents, assessing progress against the plan and understand the potential impact of change.
Understand currentphases/packages of work being undertaken in projects and ensure the cost and benefit of these work packages are tracked at a central level
Work package tracking will require close working with the programme finance team, and understanding of the monthly financial cycle affecting the programme
Delivering allocated pieces of work, ensuring that agreed objectives and tasks are met and that the PMO Lead is kept up to date
Supporting and maintaining relationships withinternal and external stakeholders to enable the achievement of project objectives with progress
Identifying, documenting and monitoring any risks and issues which may impact on the time, quality and cost of the project.
Collating information for status reports and working closely with the reporting teams when required
Managing resourcing plans and ensuring these are up to date
Representing the project when liaising with people outside of the project team.
Sound planning and organising skills with the ability to plan workloads in a structured and logical way, working to tight deadlines.
Good communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality written documentation and select the content, style, format and distribution methods most appropriate to the audience
Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently and on their own initiative
Good questioning skills with the confidence to challenge and probe
Able to operate within a demanding and challenging environment and respond positively to changeWhat we require from the candidate:

No insurance experience required
Experience in Agile Programme planning and transformation delivery, preferably you will have done a similar planningrole in a large transformation programme
Experience within in the financial services industry (multi-channel, distribution, products, services, customers and industry wide knowledge)
Advanced in: Project planning tools -predominately MS Project Capabilities
Sound planning and organising skills with the ability to plan workloads/workshops in a structured and logical way, working to tight deadlines.
Good communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality written documentation and select the content, style, format and distribution methods most appropriate to the audience
Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently and on their own initiative
Good questioning skills with the confidence to challenge and probe -calling out undocumented risks, assumptions, issues or dependencies Able to operate within a demanding and challenging environment and respond positively to change
