Job Description
A Payroll Manager is required to join a civil engineering company based near Dagenham. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for looking after the monthly payroll for up to 200 members of staff, including sub-contractors. The Payroll Manager will also be tasked with improving the efficiency of the current payroll process.

The successful candidate will have worked in a similar role previously and have a clear understanding of UK tax and payroll laws. Payroll qualifications are advantageous, but qualified by experience candidates are encouraged to apply. Excellent communication skills are required alongside a positive attitude and proactive approach.

Payroll Manager Position Overview

Monthly payroll for up to 200 staff, including sub-contractors
Manual adjustments and calculations for SSP, SMP, SPP
Review and streamline the payroll process / suggest improvements
Reconcile Payroll on a Monthly basis
Analyse and report on payroll data
P11d preparation
Assist with audits as and when required

Payroll Manager Position Requirements

Previous experience within a similar position
Understanding of UK tax and payroll laws
Part or fully CIPP qualified, QBE also considered
Able to evaluate processes and improve efficiencies
Microsoft office
Knowledge of Sage accounting software desirable
IT literate
Excellent written and verbal communication

Payroll Manager Position Remuneration

Salary £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
28 days holiday including Bank Holidays
Working hours Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
Potential yearly bonus
