Job Description
PAYROLL CLERK
Cove Recruitment’s Accountancy & Financial Services division are proud to be working with our client, who are an established provider of specialist services within both the rail and construction industries. They have an outstanding and enviable reputation for quality, professional service, and customer focus.
We are looking to speak to candidates who have worked previously within Accounts, Finance or Payroll departments. As the successful Payroll Clerk, you will be required to carry out tasks for both our client and our client’s sister company.
You will join a busy department, in a varied Payroll position.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
* Processing both Weekly and Monthly pay
* Distribute employee salary payslips on time and accurately
* Maintain accurate records of payments made to employees
* Keep track of pay periods, hourly wages, salaries, overtime, sick days and holiday days of employees
* Utilise Sage Payroll for data entry and Sage Accounts
* File relevant reports and documents as needed
* Verify employee records and consult departments in the event of a discrepancy
* Process employee expenses
* Liaise with Compliance with regards to confidential information
* Carrying out other general administrative tasks as and when required, to support the finance department
WHAT WE NEED?
* Experience using Sage
* Naturally good with numbers
* Organised with the ability to work accurately and under pressure
* Previous similar experience within Finance
* Fantastic written and spoken communication skills
* A proactive can-do attitude and be a strong multi-tasker
* To be self-motivated and well organised
* A strong work ethic
