Liaise with wider Payroll & Finance teams to ensure the Payroll balance sheets are clear and up to date by reconciling all transactions on a monthly basis (e.g. Season Ticket Loans, BACS rejects, Cycle to Work Scheme deductions etc.). The role will also work in collaboration with the Payroll Team Leader & HR team to ensure all TUPE liability information is uploaded and kept up to date in line with site openings and closures
Key Accountabilities:
– Responsible for keeping all payroll balance sheets up to date by reconciliation. This will require monthly meetings with Finance to go over any discrepancies and unreconciled items
– Support wider team & work collaboratively, stepping in where necessary, to ensure a best-in-class Payroll service to our colleagues
– Day-to-day Concur (expenses system) accounting journals and queries
– To ensure the expense hierarchies are up to date & in line with business requirements
– Work in partnership with the Payroll Team Leader and HR Business Partners to ensure all TUPE data is uploaded using HR interface tools in an accurate & timely manner
– Work closely with the Payroll Team Leader to ensure accurate processing and balancing of third-party payment obligations
– Provide support for the Pensions Adviser, when required, to ensure pensions balance sheets are all up to date and all pensions payments have reached the required payment authority within the specified payment date
Measures of Success:
– All payment deadlines are met for pensions and third-party payments
– Expense milage rates are kept up to date as per HMRC guidelines
– Expense reporting completed daily with journals generated and integrated into SAP
– Hold regular meetings with the Finance team to ensure any balance-sheet issues are discussed and cleared each month, ensuring all balance sheets are complete for financial year-end
– All TUPE liability information is uploaded accurately & within agreed timescales
Profile: The experience and knowledge we are looking for from our future Payroll Analyst include:
– Someone with a payroll or finance background or experience in systems/analytics/data processing
– Proven ability to work with complex/detailed information with an excellent eye for detail
– Highly organised with excellent, demonstrable Microsoft Office skills
– The ability to adapt your style to engage with your audience, setting the bar high with excellent customer service
– Confident communicator with the ability to tackle problems and resolve
– A team player with a flexible approach to work and job variety
