Job Description
The Burford Recruitment Company are excited to be working exclusively with a values-led IT company located in Witney, who are seeking an experienced and capable Payroll & Finance Assistant to join their busy team.
Reporting to the HR & Finance Director, the focus of this role to assist the Finance Team with Payroll, Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger.
Responsibilities
* Sharing the preparation of monthly payroll, comprising of over 175 employees
* Uploading and maintaining pension records
* Preparation of mileage reports and maintaining records for VAT
* Reconciliation of all payroll accounts
* Processing staff expense claims and monthly reconciliation of company credit cards
* Setup and maintenance of all credit card accounts
* Covering Purchase Ledger – uploading invoices and preparing payment runs
* Sales Ledger – helping with credit control and chasing aged debt
* Dealing with general day to day enquiries via the telephone and email
Skills and attributes required
* Previous payroll experience is essential
* Experience of handling pension payments and records
* Purchase and Sales Ledger experience is desired
* Good understanding of UK VAT
* Highly numerate
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to prioritise workload
* Experience using Excel
