Role: Utilities Operations Manager
Location: Hybrid / Warrington (4 days in the office & 1 day from home)
Salary: up to £50,000 DOE
Summary
A multi-utilities infrastructure company are seeking an experienced Utilities Operations Manager to take accountability and responsibility for the offsite and onsite delivery of multi-utility projects, with the primary focus to ensure programmed works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in Operational leadership role within the utilities sector, demonstrable experience in problem-solving & risk analysis and excellent communication skills, with the ability to talk and present to a range of audiences. Key responsibilities:
Monitor construction programme to ensure desired outcomes are achieved
Management of capacity & capability to deliver all projects within the pipeline
Robust risk management procedures and identification of project risk & mitigating actions
Manage and support the team in the resolution of challenges on their projects.
Implement effective & proportionate escalation procedures
Coach, mentor, motivate team to achieve individual targets & company performance goals.
Identify skill gaps & address training issues
Ensure audits are carried out as required on both site activities and third party suppliers
Ensure all non-conformances are raised, recorded & mitigated in a timely manner
Establish and maintain financial control of the construction programme and budget
Manage deviations from the scope of work are fully captured, costed and understood.
Ensure effective stakeholder management in place across the delivery team and 3rd parties
Drive continual improvement and contribute to best practice processes and procedures
Ensures project handover and lessons learnt processes are established and implemented. Skills and experience required:
Min. 3 years’ experience within Operational leadership role within the utilities sector
Demonstrable experience in problem-solving & risk analysis
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to talk and present to a range of audiences
Proficient in MS Office
Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure & on multiple improvement initiatives
A passion for creating solutions when presented with problems
Excellent Analytical skills with an informed, evidence-based approach to risk
Natural leader, creating a work culture for success and leading by example
