Job Description
Our major Broking client is looking to recruit an experienced Marine Claims professional with a strong background handling Hull & Machinery, Marine Liability and/or Ports & Terminals claims.

You'll be working with sophisticated clients across the Globe so you'll be comfortable providing superior service and settling high value and complex claims.

This is a huge area of growth for our Client and the role offers progression opportunities within the Marine team for an individual like yourself looking to develop and further their career within Marine.

You'll be joining a welcoming and collaborative team and will have the opportunity to learn from and be mentored by some highly respected market professionals.

This outstanding new hybrid role offers the flexibility to work both virtually and from their Chelmsford office. As an extension of their City office there will be plenty of opportunity to come into London basis for client meetings and team collaboration purposes – if you wish.

As a Marine Claims Handler your key responsibilities will include:

Claim advice – notify the claim, subsequent advice and settlement to carriers.
Carefully manage the claims negotiation process with clients, underwriters and or their appointed legal representatives and or loss adjusters
Negotiate the payment and settlement of claims with clients and underwriters
Engage, monitor and manage third party providers e.g. loss adjusters, lawyers, surveyors, engineers
Co-ordinate discussions and meetings to ensure superior level of communication between the client, underwriter and their representatives concerning the proposed settlement.To be a successful Marine Claims Handler you will demonstrate:

Experience of end to end claims handling within the London Market
Experience in Marine Claims and of CLASS & ECF
Strong communication and negotiation skills
