This is a great opportunity to undertake a Commercial role that will challenge and allow the right person to grow at the same time and gain excellent experience in line with their professional qualification. As the Management Accountant this role will put you at the heart of the business, giving you a great overview of how it works whilst enabling you to work closely with teams across media and membership. You will manage an Assistant Accountant and enjoy a role with high visibility within a fast paced and exciting sector. Responsibilities:

Managing Assistant accountant to deliver the revenue process for the Media business
All advertising and commercial billing, ensuring billed amounts are accurate and issued in a timely manner
Review of reconciliations, SOX control compliance and tax compliance for these revenues, ensuring accurate revenue recognition in adherence with relevant GAAP
Managing the credit control process including customer communications and contact and weekly reporting to Ad Sales team and CFOO
Managing the direct cost position for Media and Membership, including reviewing forecasts, accruals and reconciliations of key budgets
Preparation and review of weekly payment requests including payment review meetings with CFOO and CEO.
Responsible for compiling, analysing and uploading budget and forecasts throughout the planning cycle for the Media & Membership P&L in cooperation with Heads of Department to gross margin level.
Responsible for compiling, maintaining and analysis of cash flow forecasts for relevant areas, including full year and rolling 90 day forecasts
Supporting the CFOO with financial planning of new business initiatives including preparation and review of financial models and finance operations to evaluate business cases for example for new venues, events and other business initiatives.
Review and preparation of monthly reporting and annual financials for the Media & Membership business with the help of direct report which includes key analysis on variances to budget/forecast, KPI's as well as assessing Risks & Opportunities.
Identifying areas of improvement and opportunities for efficiencies.
Role operates as a key business partner for the Media & Membership business including directly supporting two directors on the executive committee and other Heads of Department.
Ad hoc analysis and performance updates as requested by business partners
Ensuring Events operates within the financial control framework, including SOX compliance and adherence to group controls/latest accounting guidelines with guidance.
Relevant group financial reporting, covering P&L and Balance sheet variance analysis & exception reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and other control packs.
Review local sales tax position and any required filings in cooperation with the Financial Accountant for the Media entity in the UK, US (New York), US (California) and the Publishing entity in Germany
Line management and development of one Assistant Accountant.
Assistant Accountant is responsible for end-to-end processes on AP & AR ledgers as well as assisting with the preparation of management accounts, annual financials, balance sheet analysis and tax reporting.
Implement new process and procedures alongside the HoF.Requirements:

Be able to demonstrate a real passion and interest in the world of sport, media and entertainment
Qualified accountant / finalist
Strong commercial acumen
Likes to get hands dirty
Excellent excel skills – must be able to manipulate large data sources efficiently and accurately
Able to present financial information to non-financial audience
Good eye for control weaknesses and solutions
Well organised, tenacious, hits deadlines
Must be analytical and questioning and have strong attention to detail
Good knowledge of VAT, and corporation tax matters
Experience in an SME business preferred, Media business beneficial
Demonstrated ability to build / run tightly controlled financial controls and processes
Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior management
