Management Accountant | Herefordshire | Permanent | up to £40,000

JOB SUMMARY

To ensure the timely and accurate production of management accounts, to facilitate the provision of insightful management information.

Maintain tight control over the balance sheet, ensuring monthly reconciliations are completed, instil financial discipline at all levels within the organisation and safeguard the Group's assets.

The role will report to the Finance Operations Manager and manage a small team.

Main Responsibilities

* Preparation of accurate monthly management accounts in accordance with the agreed timetable to include revenue, operating and capital expenditure.

* Maintain the Fixed asset registers and ensure reconciled to the management accounts on a monthly basis.

* Assist in preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review by the Finance Operations Manager.

* Assist in the monthly review of the financial performance to ensure the accounts are complete and accurate.

* Responsible for operational cash forecasting in accordance with the agreed timetable. Including but not limited to;

* Looking forward a minimum of 13 weeks and any unexpected variances in cash are investigated and explained / escalated as appropriate

* Analysis of actuals versus forecast, ensuring material variances are understood and explained

* Ensuring differences versus the corporate model are understood and communicated

* Group cashflow reporting to key internal and external stakeholders

* Preparation of quarterly group Vat return for submission to HMRC.

* Support the annual audit and tax process for area of responsibility. Provide accurate information in accordance with the audit timetable.

* The post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may be reasonably expected within the scope and grading of the post.

Personal Profile

Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), with 1 to 2 years post qualification experience
