Management Accountant

Salary Guide: £50,000 – £55,000 pa

Benefits: Bupa, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, 36-hour week with flexi time, Pension Scheme (Company 7.5% and Employee 4.8%), Life Assurance, Long Term Disability Insurance and free on-site parking

Location: Harlow, Essex – free on-site parking

Our medical device manufacturing client based in Harlow, Essex is looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join a leading, established medical instrumentation design and manufacturer based in Harlow, Essex.

As the Management Accountant you will be working closely with the Head of Finance (HOF) on all aspects of reporting and business performance.

It is essential for candidates to have worked within an accounts environment within a medical device, scientific, pharma or manufacturing engineering company.

Key Tasks:

Ownership of month-end close

Monthly, Half-year & Annual Group reporting for the two UK entities

Production of Management accounts for the local management team

Spearhead Product & Service margin monitoring. Identify causes of variations between standard and performance results to support operational and strategic decision making across the business

Work closely with the budget holders to review performance and variances, and support them to manage costs and make decisions

Cover for daily sales reporting verses forecast

Balance sheet reconciliations, highlighting any deviations

Cashflow budgeting, forecasting and planning

Control of CAPEX process in line with Group controls

Ownership of quarterly VAT returns

Prepare and submit information to statutory authorities including HMRC and other government

Support HOF with the development and monitoring of the Internal control System (ICS)

Participate in process improvement promoting consistency, timeliness, and accuracy

Work closely with the HOF to produce the annual budget and forecasts

Direct contact and support for financial audit

Assist with the supervision of the Finance team and monitoring workload
