Job Description
My client is a secondary academy looking to recruit a Head of Finance and Operations.

The prime responsibility of the Head of Finance and Operations is to work with the Principal and the other members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the School succeeds and develops in its mission, achieves its strategic aims including ambitious plans for growth. The post holder will lead on all matters relating to finance and operations, including project management of several concurrent projects, with the most ambitious being an imminent large facilities build.

You’ll provide high quality strategic financial planning to ensure the school makes best possible use of its resources, with robust and effective financial controls. You’ll work closely with the finance team and have an active involvement with all heads of departments of other support areas, to give the best possible financial and operational guidance to the SLT. You’ll work with all involved parties to design and implement improved systems, controls and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and other requirements relating to the School. You’ll work hand in hand with a variety of external professional contractors and expert partners on infrastructure developments are planned and budgeted.

The successful candidate will be a motivational leader, who enjoys inspiring and developing teams. You’ll have a passion in helping others to achieve, promoting the schools CPD values and encouraging all support staff to reach their potential. The role seeks an inspirational and determined leader with drive, initiative and ambition to lead the Schools financial planning, as well as ensuring an ongoing focus on delivering robust and effective operations across the non-academic functions. A background within education is preferred, but candidates with experience of a broad, cross department leadership role would be welcomed. It is highly likely that you will be a formally qualified accountant, or have comparable formal business administration qualifications, with a strong finance background.
