Job Description
Are you a recent graduate (or equivalent) looking for an opportunity that offers you exposure to general ledger accounting? Interested in studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA)? With at least 3-months experience of working within a finance environment?

As a result of internal growth, we are working in partnership with a leading publishing house as they look to recruit an ambitious individual to join them as Graduate Finance Assistant. Acting as an integral part of the UK finance team, the Finance Assistant supports the Financial Accountant and Financial Controller with the administration and reconciliation of key accounting areas.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, as Finance Assistant you will be tasked with processing invoices, managing employee expenses along with bank general ledger postings and cash reconciliations.

Other key responsibilities include:

Posting accruals and prepayments at month-end

Assisting the Accounts Payable team when required

Balance sheet reconciliations

Revenue accounting

Accounts receivable payment allocations

Other ad-hoc tasks to support the wider finance team at month/quarter-end
The ideal candidate will have a degree in a numerical field (or equivalent) such us; accounting and finance, mathematics or business studies. In addition, will have a desire to study a recognised accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA). Has an inquisitive nature and an interest in becoming a chartered accountant.

Ideally, you will have at least 3+ months experience working within a finance department, either accounts payable, receivable or having had exposure to management accounting.

You'll be someone who enjoys building relationships, is hard-working and has a strong attention to detail. Strong MS Excel skills (essential).
