Financial & Regulatory Reporting Manager

Our client is a customer focussed, award winning and established local financial services provider. Following a promotion within the finance team they are looking to recruit a Financial & Regulatory Reporting Manager to lead a team of 6 and be responsible for the day to day financial control and regulatory reporting function of the business. This is a great opportunity for someone who lives within a reasonable commute of South Cumbria with 5years+ finance control or regulatory reporting experience.
Key responsibilities for the Financial & Regulatory Reporting Manager role:
* Control, budgeting and reporting of the cost base including detailed analysis and identification of cost efficiencies
* Management of monthly payroll and staff expenses
* Management of the treasury back office, including trade control and settlements.
* Ownership of the General Ledger, ensuring monthly controls are maintained including robust balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparation of the annual report and accounts.
* Responsible for technical accounting areas including Effective Interest Rate (EIR), Hedge Accounting, Loss Provisioning, Fixed Assets, Defined Benefit Pension, Tax and Deferred Tax.
* Ensuring technical accounting areas are accurately recorded, models are maintained and journals are reviewed.
* Assessment of new accounting requirements, including the implementation of IFRS 9.
* Review of the regulatory reporting submissions to the PRA/BoE.
* Maintenance of finance owned regulatory reporting policies and procedures. Assessment of new regulatory requirements and development of reporting framework. Continuous improvement and automation of regulatory reporting.
* Ongoing identification, management and monitoring of risks in your area including related projects to inform decisions and minimise losses.
Experience required for Strategic Planning & Analysis Manager:
* 5yrs+ relevant Financial Control or Regulatory Reporting experience
* Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or other relevant qualifications
* Team management Experience
* Experiencing managing a heavily control focused environment
* Able to work to deadlines and work well under pressure
* Able to understand and implement financial and regulatory information
* Advanced excel skills
* Financial Services experience advantageous
Travel and hybrid working: Our client works on a hybrid model and expect staff to be at Head office in Barrow-in-Furness approximately 50% of the time. Hybrid working is done with a purpose (so in office for collaborative working, meetings etc rather than x number of days a week). This means there will be a requirement to be in the office more at peak times (e.g. year end, when plans are being signed off etc) but with flexibility at other times. There may be some options for a relocation package or travel allowance, depending on specific circumstances.
