Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with proven knowledge of SIPP & SSAS along with the understanding of various forms of investments, to join the technical team of an award-winning SIPP and SSAS Pension Specialist Company who have through long standing success are renowned for client serving excellence, the role is varied and dynamic with ongoing opportunities for progression. THE ROLE
As a key member of the team, you will be expected to review various investment proposals to ensure that they meet both HMRC rules and regulations, and the company internal procedures. You will also work closely with the New Business team, assisting Sales Support and Business Development Managers with enquiries from both financial advisers and direct clients.
Responsibilities to include:
Reviewing Commercial Property investments, ensuring they are suitable to be held within a self-invested pension, that the funding plans are sufficient, and that clear title is to be held.
Analysing non-standard investments such as Secured Loans, Unquoted Equities, Structured Products and UCIS. Demonstrating a clear understanding of the Company acceptance criteria and applying this accurately and consistently.
Submitting investment proposals to the internal investment committee, ensuring that all relevant information is provided and that the details are concisely summarised. Contributing to the discussion of investments and transcribing the meeting minutes.
Ensuring that internal procedures are updated as and when required, and that all investment decisions are logged and clearly communicated to the suitable individuals. Auditing the quality of new business submissions to ensure Business Development Managers are reaching their KPIs.
Accurately and efficiently communicating the outcomes of Investment Committee meetings, and the rationale behind them with clients, financial advisers and other third parties. Ensuring internal records are updated with meeting outcomes and specific acceptance criteria.
Working closely with the new business team. Taking phone calls from external introducers and intermediaries to assist with new business and technical enquiries. Guiding Sales Support with more complex enquiries, liaising with and supporting Business Development Managers.
Arranging Global Agreements between the pension administrator and third-party investment managers.
Reviewing assets which are set to be transferred in-specie.
Training internal staff on investment procedures.
Assisting with Due Diligence reports and surveys.
Supporting the Chairman of the Investment Committee and the Sales & Marketing Director as required.
Skills/Experience required:
A good awareness and understanding of legislative rules and regulations, tax and technical issues surrounding Self Invested Personal Pensions and Small Self-Administered Schemes.
Articulate, with the ability and confidence to understand and simplify legislative issues to both internal and external individuals, and to deal with High-Net-Worth individuals.
Confident in attending meetings with senior members of staff, and capable of clearly summarising meeting outcomes.
Numerate, with good Microsoft Office
Good team player with excellent communication skills and commercial attitude.
Qualifications:
Expected to have achieved or have part completed the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent.
Experience in Pensions of Paraplaning would be advantagous
