Your new employer

You will be joining a family-led business with a strong heritage of over 50 years, which is looking to expand its talented team at a time of growth. This organisation is located just a short drive from Glasgow, with great transport links available nearby.

This position is offered on a part-time or full-time basis, dependent on the candidate's preferences, with a salary of £45,000 to £55,000 per annum pro-rata.

Responsibilities within your new role

Manage all accounting operations including invoicing, A/R, A/P (including making supplier payments), GL, expense accounting and revenue recognition
Oversee payroll and use Xero payroll software to pay employee wages
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Implement and monitor quality controls over financial transactions and financial reporting
Coordinate and prepare budgets and financial forecasts
Develop, prepare and publish timely monthly management accounts
Develop financial/commercial KPIs as part of a monthly management reporting pack
Develop and support month-end and year-end close process
Coordinate the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and tax returns with our external advisors
Review and submit the quarterly VAT returns
Manage and comply with local and government reporting requirements and corporation tax filings

Your personality, experience and qualifications

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of post-qualified experience within an accounting or finance environment, along with being CA or ACCA-qualified. You will have strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, and preferably prior experience in a Financial Controller position with a focus on creating and reviewing financial statements, general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process. Finally, you should have excellent knowledge of accounting software and robust excel skills.
