Job Description
Financial Controller

Whitchurch

Permanent

39 hours per week – Monday – Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4pm (flexibility on the start/finish times)

£45,000 – £55,000 per annum D.O.E. + great benefits including 30 days holiday + an additional day for your birthday + bank holidays

Prince Personnel are working with a young and growing business who are looking for a Financial Controller on a permanent basis. You will form an integral part of the senior leadership team to develop, deliver and exceed business performance, strategy and direction. There is currently 1 direct report, but with room to build and grow your own team. The role is initially hands on as well as strategic. You must be able and willing to get hands dirty and support the finance team with day-to-day tasks as well as be a leader within the business.

You will be responsible for:

* Implement robust financial systems

* Lead the budgeting, forecasting and planning process

* Support senior teams to create growth strategies and plans

* Forge strong relationships with key stakeholders

* Advise the CEO and Senior Management Team on all matters relating to financial performance

* Lead and motivate the finance team

* Prepare annual accounts

* Control all financial and accountancy matters including month end reports, management accounts, cash flow management, statutory accounts, compliance, presentation of management information and KPI's

* Support the business through change and growth periods, coordinating corporate finance, debt, taxation, equity and acquisitions, as appropriate

* Ensure the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met

* Contribute to the achievement of the company's business objectives

* Develop and implement an internal audit programme to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the company

* Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value to the company

* Review and monitor cost accounting practices and probability across product range and customer base

* Lead other departments in margin improvement

* Lead and develop relations with financial stakeholders such as lenders, banks, accountancy and audit firms.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate must be fully or part qualified with a proven track record in leading a finance function within a smaller business or a finance management role within a medium to large company. You must have a commercial not just numbers mindset and be a strategic thinker.
