Job Description
Title: Financial Controller
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000
Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays + company pension scheme + some hybrid working an option
Location: Hull
OVERVIEW:
Are you a qualified ACA/ACCA Financial Controller experienced in managing a team? I am recruiting for a FSSC based in Hull operating in the service sector and willing to offer a degree of hybrid working. Candidates must however be within a commutable area of Hull. It is possible that the role could be undertaken 4 days per week with a pro rata salary.
THE ROLE:
Reporting into the FD the Financial Controller will have 7 direct reports including management accountants and a Purchase Ledger/Treasury Manager
Take overall responsibility for month end process including review of management accounts and preparation of variance analysis for review meeting with Finance Director
Oversee production and circulation of monthly reporting packs and forecasts
Provide a detailed review of consolidated deferred revenue files and challenge revenue recognition on new acquisitions
Review of balance sheet reconciliations, maintain log of all open actions and regularly check progress
Ensure finance controls are operating effectively, address any weaknesses identified, act as the key point of contact for year end / interim audit
Prepare monthly cost approval summaries for review by Group Finance Director and CFO, involvement in integration of M&A
THE CANDIDATE:
You are a qualified ACA/ACCA Financial Controller with ideally a minimum of 5 years PQE and previous experience of managing a team
Professional in approach and with exceptional communication skills both in writing and verbally, you form effective working relationships quickly and are able to deliver results through a collaborative style that brings out the best in your team
You must be capable of working in a fast paced environment with the ability to work to deadline and have strong analytical skills able to solve problems logically
This opportunity may also suit a candidate who is looking for 4 days per week

THE BENEFITS:
£60,000 – £70,000 plus a part time option of 4 days per week for a pro rata salary + 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time) + company pension scheme and some hybrid working may be possible.
