As a group we are continuing to grow significantly and always keen to attract new talent to our business.The Financial Accounts Assistant Opportunity We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to take up the role of financial accounts assistant within our Finance team, based in Coventry. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, this role will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions for Macfarlane Group UK Limited entity and other group companies. You will also be supporting the management accountants whilst working with general ledger & accounts payable teams. Financial Accounts Assistant Key Responsibilities
Daily downloads of bank statements for cash allocation and cashbook reporting
Maintain excel cashbook reporting
Reconciliations of all bank accounts
Liaise with bank to manage standing orders and direct debits
Manual payment processing
Process expense claims, VAT reporting, weekly payments & monthly accruals
Finance point of contact for expense queries
Administration and processing of ad hoc manual invoices and credit notes
Support in the preparation of monthly management accounts, through review of various overhead cost categories
Supporting with senior management with general finance queries
Ensuring control account reconciliations are prepared and reconciling items cleared on a timely basis for areas of responsibility
Point of contact for external auditor liaison for cashbook, treasury and other queries
Ensuring audit deliverables available as per year end timetable for areas of responsibility
Do you have the correct profile? You will ideally be able to demonstrate success of having worked within a similar financial accounts assistant capacity, that will have provided exposure to most of the responsibilities listed above. You will also ideally have the following skills and experience…
Recognized accounting qualification such as AAT or equivalent qualification
Experience of working in Finance for a large organisation
Ability to operate in a de-centralized multi-site environment
IT literacy – Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, ERP Systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in analyzing and presenting financial information
Demonstrate Integrity, dedication, ambition in approach to work
Willingness to learn and challenge the status quo with new ideas
Ability to work independently and proactively
