Job Description
Sellick Partnership have been engaged to recruit a Financial Accountant for an instantly recognisable, branded, profitable organisation based in Lancashire.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic fully qualified candidate, preferably with a practice background (ACA/ACCA/ICAEW/ICAS or equivalent), ideally with exposure to audit or in a similar role within industry.

A result of an internal promotion, this dynamic role will report into a forward thinking Financial Controller, and offers a huge opportunity for progression and development throughout the business.

The overall purpose of this role is to ensure a robust internal controls environment for the UK statutory entity, as well as responsibility for compliant taxation and financial reporting functions.

Key responsibilities:

Support the Financial Controller in the management of the internal controls framework
Responsible for day-to-day compliance regarding VAT processes, corporate tax submissions and employment tax processes, alongside the HR function
Responsible for the production of year end statutory accounts for the UK entity
Partnering across international entities to ensure robust controls are consistent across the group
Responsible for processing quarterly and monthly VAT returns for Polish, Irish, Canadian and UK entities
Preparing the corporation tax submissions for group and ensuring compliance processes are satisfactory
Working with the Anti-Bribery and Corruption function to ensure strict compliance around controls and processes
Consistently identify opportunities for process improvement across the UK entity
Supporting the Financial Controller and Financial Reporting team with ad-hoc projects and period end reporting processes as necessaryThe person

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ICAEW/ICAS) or equivalent, or will have previous experience within a similar role in industry.

The ideal candidate will be a personable, motivated individual with a good understanding of strong controls and compliance. The successful individual will have a keen eye for detail and be able to pick up new information quickly. A background in internal audit would be advantageous for this role.
