Job Description
Our client a bank in London is hiring a Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform general accounting functions (e.g. accruals/provisions/amortisation/depreciation, fixed assets register/capital expenditure, opening/maintaining internal accounts etc.). Prepare and input the journal entries arising from the performance of accounting functions.

* Prepare monthly management accounts, explain variances and update the commentary.

* Prepare annual statutory accounts in accordance with the relevant accounting standards (FRS102). This includes liaising with the external auditor and departments within the Bank.

* Liaise with the Bank’s tax accountants on tax-related matters, in liaison with the Financial Controller.

* Prepare the annual budget for presentation to the Executive Directors and perform ongoing monitoring of performance against the budget.

* Perform account reconciliations (e.g., nostro and sundry accounts etc.).

* Perform the FCD function relating to the invoice payment process.

* Provide cover for certain daily reports prepared by the Regulatory Reporting Officer.

* Assist with the production of the ICAAP, ILAAP, and Pillar 3 Disclosures.

* Provide ad-hoc financial information as requested from time to time by the Financial Controller and/or the Finance Director.

Skills/Experience

* Accounting qualification. [Should be at least part qualified]

* Sound accounting knowledge and experience gained in a banking environment

* Proficiency in English, both oral and written

* Adaptable to changing requirements

* Attention to detail

* Knowledge of prudential regulatory reporting

* Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
