Job Description
Pertemps are recruiting for a Finance Officer to work with a Public Sector organisation in Edinburgh on a temporary assignment.

Role: Finance Officer
Pay Rate: £15.76 per hour
Location: Edinburgh EH8
Contract Length: December 2022 initially
Hours: 35hrs per week

Main Duties
Process financial transactions, monitor, report and assure the accuracy of expenditure against budgets
Ensure compliance with funders' terms and conditions
Application of policy and funding restrictions to project budgets
Liaising internally to arrange award set-up and meet with colleagues to discuss milestones, budget plans, and support requirements
Advise of potential deviations from budgets, and work with colleagues to take appropriate action to mitigate the effect on the funds
Preparing journals and ensuring appropriate and accurate coding of expenditure.
Liaise with UK and international partners on projects to ensure their budgets are managed appropriately
Support the administration of any associated events as required
Other general administrative support as per projects' requirements e.g. arranging project meetings, arranging travel, updating project website or project SharePoint pages.
Monitor and report on expenditure
Liaise with HR and administrators to collate up to date information
Essential Skills
At least 2 years' relevant administrative work experience
Previous experience of financial administration
High degree of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
Strong IT skills, and the ability to quickly learn how to use a range of new packages
Ability to gather and analyse information and report on it accurately
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and using your own initiative
