Job Description
NXTGEN have an immediate requirement for a Finance Manager to join a high profile and expanding group at their offices in Peterborough on an initial 9 month Fixed Term Contract. The organisation is experiencing a positive period of change as they review financial reporting processes and systems and as Finance Manager, you will provide continuity and stability to the finance team as these projects progress. You will play a key role in the delivery of the month end close from both a financial and management point of view, reviewing the performance of a number of business units. The Finance Manager will continually monitor central costs and overheads, identifying any significant changes before analysing and investigating these. Given the current changeable environment, the successful candidate can also expect to support with a range of ad hoc tasks ranging from the year end statutory close to management reporting and process improvement. Therefore candidates for this Finance Manager role will need to be flexible in approach with a willingness to take on ad hoc tasks and run with them.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

Delivery of month end financial and management reporting for multiple business units
Review balance sheet performance, produce month end reports and reconcile at month end
Support the wider finance team with variance analysis and ad hoc analytic's as required
Support with quarterly, half year and year end reporting, working with other Finance Managers to consolidate group reports
Provide ad hoc support in reviewing financial systems as well as identifying ways to improve the reporting process
Review ledgers and maintain accuracy and integrityThe successful candidate will ideally be qualified (ACA/ACCA or equivalent). Qualified by experience candidates with experience in a similar financial reporting focused role are also encouraged to apply. You will ideally have prior experience working within a medium or large scale business and will be confident reporting to tight group deadlines. Strong Excel skills will be key combined with good data management and analytical skills. Any prior experience with ERP systems improvements or implementations would be significantly advantageous but not essential.
