Job Description
Are you looking for a Finance Manager role with a successful firm? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established company that prides itself on being a friendly office of “nice folk”. This is a standalone role working within all areas of finance and in conjunction with the firm’s accountants and external auditors.
This role would suit an experienced general accountant or management accountant looking for a step up into a management position.
Reporting to the MD, as Finance Manager your responsibilities will include:
* Preparation of management accounts and all associated responsibilities
* Liaison with external accountants in relation to the financial affairs and reporting requirements, providing the required supporting documentation
* Preparing and providing year end information for accountants
* Invoicing – maintaining and proactively managing inbound and outbound invoicing schedule including creating and issuing accurate and approved invoices to clients ensuring suppliers send invoices when expected
* Tracking and chasing up overdue invoices to ensure timely payment and help financial management
* Ensuring external billable expenses are tracked and recorded correctly, and recharged accurately when required
* Manage payments for suppliers and petty cash
* Preparation of payroll information for accountants
* Management of day-to-day banking and reconciling bank accounts and credit cards
* Job costing via RedSky software
* Producing monthly finance reports to help management team make informed decisions about running the business and supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes
* Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns

* Qualified or part qualified or an exceptional QBE accountant
* Significant experience gained within a similar role
* Strong IT skills
* Commercially aware
* Organised with high levels of accuracy, attention to detail and recall
* Ability to work to external and internal deadlines
* Articulate, good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
* Creative, lateral thinker
* Familiarity with legislative and regulatory issues such as data protection (GDPR compliance)
* Willingness to ‘roll up sleeves’ and do what is required for the smooth running of the firm’s finances
