Job Description
This business is a thriving, family owned SME based in Norfolk. They are seeking a highly commercial Finance Director to take a key role withing the senior management team. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will have full responsibility for the financial processes, strategy and reporting alongside supporting the sales and marketing function in analysing and optimising the commercial success of the business.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Financial:
Overall management of the finance and reporting operations function
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Overseeing of financial reports to ensure compliance with all UK financial legalities and General Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
Being hands on when necessary and processing supplier and employee salary payments
Cashflow forecast and cash management
Responsibility for ensuring an appropriate insurance provision for all areas of the business
Oversee the Procurement processes
Oversee the Credit Control processes
Responsibility of the banking activities
Operate as a member of the team to actively participate in financial strategies to improve the performance of the company
In conjunction with the Managing Director, take the lead to prepare the monthly financial reports and analysis for the Board and management team
Assist the Managing Director in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
Individual Profit and Loss reporting and analysis by project, product & potential new ventures
Assist in reporting of, and the management of, staffing capacity and strategies
Analyse business financial KPI’s and advise the management team of changes and opportunities for improvement
Management of relationships with external financial agencies – e.g. HMRC
Foster a culture of continuous improvement to the systems, processes and procedures supporting Finance
Commercial:
Work with the Senior Management Team to develop a long-term Sales and Marketing strategy for the business in line with the Financial Strategy
Assist the Sales Team in preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for Sales.
Operate as a member of the team to actively participate in Sales / Marketing and other Commercial strategies to improve the performance of the company
Work with the Sales Team to ensure commercial contracts/agreements are correctly followed
Verify the legality of all Customer NDA’s and more complex Sales contracts
Track and maintain the Sales Team’s statistics and KPI’s dashboard
The ideal candidate will be professionally qualified with a background working in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Someone with a high level of commercial awareness and a strategic mindset coupled with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
