The University of Wolverhampton Students’ Union is a not-for-profit charitable organisation affiliated with The University of Wolverhampton. We currently represent approximately 22,000 students from varied and diverse backgrounds, with 68% being first generation university attendees.

Students' lives can be complex, and they are often juggling multiple priorities of which studying is but one. It's our role to provide the support they need in various ways so that they can get the best student experience and achieve their ambitions.

Following the launch of our Strategic Plan last year, we've been making lots of exciting changes to improve the way in which the Students' Union is structured and the way that we work. One of these changes is the creation of a new Finance Business Partner role (part-time 21 hours per week).

This is a key appointment for us and the successful candidate will take the lead in delivering improvements to the finance function.  In particular the role holder will:

Work closely with the CEO to ensure strong financial management and controls;
Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory and procedural requirements;
Provide financial and business insight to support decision making;
Challenge the status quo to provide efficiencies and improve processes; and
Build effective relationships with key internal stakeholders.
Supported by an Assistant Business Partner you will produce budgets, oversee payroll and pensions and supervise daily bookkeeping and banking.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA or CIMA qualified with demonstrable experience in financial management including management accounting. You must be a confident communicator who can analyse and interpret data and present it in appropriate forms to help inform decision making.  Things change quickly so you must also be adaptable and great at solving problems.

This is a part-time role, and it is expected that you will work on site for 3-4 days per week.  We offer a range of employee benefits that includes 38 days' annual leave including bank holidays pro rata and heavily discounted access to gym and exercise facilities.
