Robert Walters Group: Finance Assistant – Birmingham – £22k – £27k – Permanent – Hybrid

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a leading business in their recruitment of a Finance Assistant paying up to £27k dependent on experience. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and will be supporting the business in all aspects of the maintenance of the systems used.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:

Create new contract, supplier, subcontractor, debtor and employee records in an accurate and timely fashion

Maintaining, updating and closing the above records as required

Provide training on the systems to other team members as required

Issue new purchasing cards and train employees in their use

Deal with any queries/issues associated with existing cardholders

Review purchasing card statement transactions, reporting any non-compliance with policy to management

Production of card spend reporting by division

Production of debtor reporting and supporting debtor account allocation

Provide credit check reports as requested

Work with the Business Unit to ensure compliance with the company's financial processes and policies

Identify and implement process improvements

Encourage standardisation of system processes across the divisional business unit teams

Support the Finance Manager and central finance team as required

About you as the Finance Assistant:

Attention to detail

Good organisational and prioritisation skills

Ability to establish working relationships and liaise with colleagues at all levels

Clear and concise written and verbal communication

Ability to work on own initiative

Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams

Demonstrable experience in a similar role

An understanding of laws relating to data protection and the ability to always adhere to the regulations
