Job Description
A leader in marine and environmental services delivering safe and cost-effective solutions, our Fife based client are looking for a qualified and commercially astute Divisional Accountant to join their team. Working closely with the Divisional Director and Managers the role of Divisional Accountant will provide support across all departments, increasing efficiency while assisting in the production of accurate monthly management accounts, reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders. While there will be an initial requirement to be based in the office this role will offer hybrid working.
THE SUCCESFUL APPLICANT
Essential
* ACCA / CIMA / ICAS or equivalent qualification
* IT Skills – Microsoft Office experience, be an Advanced user of Excel
* Proven experience in a similar environment and commercially astute
* Financial modelling experience
* Time management skills
* Excellent relationship building and customer service skills – internally and externally and with high attention to detail and accuracy of work
* Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and targets
Desirable
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline
* Experience acting as finance lead to internal and external stakeholders
* Ability to ‘think outside the box’ and make suggestions to improve the finance function
* Current full UK Driving Licence
JOB DESCRIPTION Principal Responsibilities
* Work with bid teams to provide financial modelling support to contract tenders
* Act as primary point of contact for key customers for financial and commercial matters
* Ensure project costs are accurately maintained through the general ledger and contract costing modules, liaising with operational management as required
* Generating accurate sales invoices in a timely manner for the contracts
* Approving all divisional purchasing and associated coding
* Preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasting as required
* Participating in the annual audit process
* Developing and improving processes to achieve best practice
* Developing and maintaining a high level of understanding of all commercial areas of the contracts
* Provide assistance to the Group Financial Accountant for group accounting tasks as required

* Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with Company Health, Safety & Environmental Policies, associated site safety regulations and good industry practice
* Adopt a pro-active approach to the Company Safety Management System and demonstrate safe working practices during all working activities and contribute to all safety initiatives as required

* Adhere to Company and Regulatory documentation and procedures
Communications / Reporting
* Ensure that there is free and open communication both within and across departments, provide accurate and timely information to line manager and provide required input to meetings, planning initiatives etc.

* Promote ideas, which will increase efficiency, reduce cost or time without compromising service standards and present to line manager
* Support team performance by sharing knowledge and best practice at all levels

* Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success
* Promote and develop effective working relationships with colleagues, other departments, suppliers, clients, and customers
