Credit Controller
Location: Mountsorrel LE12
Salary: £22,000 – £30,000 per annum DOE
Role timings: Monday to Friday 9am – 530pm

Flowers Associates are currently working with an award-winning group who are seeking a credit controller to take ownership of the debt chasing within the finance team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This role would suit someone with experience in debt chasing who enjoys the chase and problem solving within a financial setting.
The Role:
To take ownership of the credit control and the debt chasing of around £100,000 outstanding debt from councils on a monthly basis.
The successful Credit Controller will be responsible for the following duties:
· Be able to build strong, professional relationships with clients/councils
· Take ownership of chasing Councils for outstanding debt
· Call clients/Councils in order to collect outstanding monies, investigating, and resolving any related issues
· Set up payment plans when required to secure debt
· Promptly allocate credit notes
· Work to prevent future reoccurring debt by implementing new, proficient processes
· Assist with other administrative and operational duties ensuring that the business runs smoothly
· Additional duties as assigned
The ideal candidate:
Would have previous experience debt chasing from clients and desirably local authorities as well as experience working with the care/charity industry. There is no need for the classic bull-dog approach to debt chasing within this company, there needs to be a more fair but firm approach as some of the clients you will be chasing debt from might be bereaved family members. The ideal candidate will have the ability to remain calm in difficult situations and be able to resolve issues within a methodical process whilst maintaining excellent personable skills. The credit controller will enjoy the chase and take pride in task completion with excellent IT and customer service skills.
