Job Description

Currently we have a new Job Opportunity for a Commercial Manager Working within a fast paced working environment, the Assistant Commercial Manager will be responsible for improving the commercial position of our business within our client to ensure that the business adheres to the contract obligations and will provide additional governance and support to the Operational teams. It is expected that they will have a relevant finance or commercial qualification and be able to demonstrate they have experience operating at a simlar level in a comparable role.
Main Responsibilities
This role will include a variety of tasks including the following:
* Provide commercial advice/support to the operational team
* Liaise with Account Managers & Senior finance team to improve contract & team performance and be influential in the maximisation of profit margins
* Identify, review and take a leading role in the resolution of any commercial disputes
* Manage any change control/variations (CVR's). Work effectively with the operational team in the identification and pricing and cost of variations; maintain and own the variation register
* Cost management, profit analysis and maximising revenue across operations in line with scope of the contract
* Ownership of the procurement of subcontractor and supply chain in line including negotiating terms that fill within contractual requirements both core and reactive tasks
* Issue key weekly reports to the client and be the owner of the monthly application and implement processes to streamline any issues
* Raising invoices within the contractual schedule
* Liaising with operational team to ensure Capital Expenditure invoices are raised in a timely manner and liaise with the client to maximise Working Capital to ensure that work in progress and debt levels are not allowed to build up
* Assist within the monthly financial management accounts across the contract.

* Able to use own initiative to solve problems as they occur
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly advanced Excel and Word)
