Job Description
SF Recruitment are currently working with a fantastic retail business based in the South Birmingham area. They are looking to on board a Commercial Finance Analyst . This exciting role is within the Commercial Finance team of a well-established and growing business. The role assists the Commercial Finance Managers and their key stakeholders in analysing and reporting on the key business drivers, with emphasis on Stock, Capital and store performance. Ideally suited to a qualified Accountant with a years PQE.

Key tasks:

– Production and communication of daily, weekly and monthly trading reports
– Analysing margin drivers to provide greater insight in trading performance, including rebates
– Ownership of rebates including month end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and understanding rebates in the P&L
– Play a key role and lead the onboarding of the new rebate software
– Review and investigation of rebate supplier statement reconciliations
– Ownership of marketing including month end journals, budgets, forecasts and business partnering
– Preparation and distribution of store pay files and overtime reports
– Be a key player in the preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecasts working alongside stakeholders from across the business
– Business partner with a range of stakeholders to understand performance vs budget, promptly highlighting areas of concern, focus or potential improvement – certain P&L lines will be of focus
– Supporting stores with queries and projects
– Support Commercial Finance Manager in month end routines, maintaining strong internal controls
– Pro-actively look for opportunities to improve reporting and analysis to better support stakeholders
– Coach and develop 1 Direct report – Rebate Accounts Assistant
– Ad hoc finance analysis for new business projects and store queries
