Account Executive

Permanent

Full-Time (Monday to Friday – 9am-5pm)

Salary dependent on Experience

We are assisting our client – a well-established insurance broker based in Cirencester – in recruiting an experienced Commercial Account Executive. The main purpose of the role is to provide a quality service to existing clients, covering all aspects of their insurance arrangements; to advise, arrange and secure the appropriate cover at a competitive premium.As well as this, the objectives are to seek and secure new accounts and generate new business and to design insurance programmes for the protection of the material assets and liabilities of clients and oversee their effective operation. The successful candidate will be aware of market developments and bring them to the attention of clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

* To ensure the fair treatment of our customers and prospective customers in all of their dealings with us.

* Deal with new business and renewals in the general insurance, referring to senior colleagues, experts or insurers when issues fall outside own experience and knowledge.

* Supervise or carry out the arrangement of insurance for clients.

* Deal with telephone enquiries promptly referring the query to the appropriate person when the enquiry falls outside own knowledge and experience.

* Gather intelligence for the purpose of obtaining new clients. To research such clients and approach them. To follow up the approach and investigate their existing cover. Prepare and present a report which will satisfy their insurance needs. To advise other members of staff of such information obtained as could be of potential use.

* Ensure that all communications with customers are accurately recorded as per the Firm’s Procedures Manual.

* Input new business on Acturis including renewals and endorsements.

* Exercise judgement when reviewing proposals, either new or renewals, referring to a senior colleague or insurer when appropriate

* Attach correct policy wordings to certificates including any other wording (exclusions, conditions, warranties, etc).

* Liaise with Claims Handlers when appropriate.

* Deal with any telephone enquiries for new or existing business, exercising own judgement, based upon knowledge and experience, as to when to refer to senior colleagues.

* Where appropriate to carry out specialist assigned tasks within the company, such as property surveyor, risk management etc.

* Liaise with Account Handlers. Assist in training other members of staff where required. Divisional Directors in charge of a branch or trading division will have responsibility for instructing and managing the staff within that branch or division.

Knowledge and understanding of core policies including current market conditions.

Knowledge and understanding of FCA rules and guidelines relating to commercial and private customers.

Knowledge and understanding of FCA rules and guidelines relating to commercial and private customers.

Knowledge and understanding of all company specific procedures.

Willingness to continue to develop knowledge of Underwriting and related issues through formal and informal learning, both internal to the firm, and externally.

Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to ensure that deadlines are adhered.

Ability to liaise with colleagues when appropriate.

Ability to develop and sustain relationships with both internal and external customers.

Ability to construct effective written communications, including letters and reports.

Confident and effective telephone skills.
