Job Description
Our client is an Engineering Contractor operating in the Construction sector.
They would like to recruit an experienced part-time Bookkeeper.
Role:
You will be expected to carry out all general Bookkeeping duties.
You will also be responsible for the preparation of accounts for year-end in conjunection with the Company accountant.
Skills/Experience:

Must have a thorough understanding of the principles of accounting, with a minimum of five years’ experience.
*
AAT Qualified & experience of operating Sage Line 50 Accountant Plus
*
Competence with Microsoft Excel and Word
*
Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (Manually)
*
Maintain good working relationship with our company’s financial accountants
*
Make entries to manual records on Excel i.e. Bank Receipts, Bank Payments and Petty Cash
*
Post Purchase invoices on Sage
*
Make monthly Journal entries to Sage as required (e.g. Salaries & VAT)
*
Reconcile bank accounts monthly (on a manual system & Sage)
*
Maintain running bank total for year end – to be issued to Company accountant
*
Inter-company balances
*
Prepare the payroll on Sage
*
Undertake the duties of Work Place Pension Administrator
*
Prepare monthly returns for PAYE (payslips)
*
Reconcile the VAT monthly with manual spreadsheet and Sage
*
Prepare and pay quarterly VAT returns
*
Prepare and submit monthly return to HMRC for CIS (Sub contractors)
*
Knowledge of Construction Industry Scheme, as well as monthly CIS Submissions
*
Analyse credit card receipts from engineers on Excel and post to Sage
*
Run month end and year end procedures through Sage
*
Pay supplier invoices at the end of each month and post payments to Sage
*
Chasing overdue payments for customers and sending out statements
*
Correspondence to relevant authorities (i.e. HMRC, Companies House)
*
Calculation and submission of P11d’s.
*
Update the internal CRM System with relevant information
*
Update internal client contract files with relevant finance documentation / communication
*
Liaise with internal Contract Managers on client payment schedules and manage the progress of these schedules
*
Total responsibility of all accounts filing
*
Dealing with day-to-day accounting enquiries including providing information for supplier questionnaire forms
